PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Working in a business-to-business contact centre you will deal with & manage high volumes of incoming calls directly from our customers - Utility companies in the UK.

You will amend, investigate & manage the lifecycle of the Utilities’ (prepayment) customers’ accounts.

You will manage issues/calls in a timely & professional manner at all times, thus allowing us as a Department to meet & exceed our customers’ expectations, as defined in our SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) with those same customers.

You will need to be flexible to work across both Felixstowe and Martlesham sites, as required.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the correct operation of Prepayment Customer accounts through the management & processing of phone calls / electronic messages / emails from Power Company Customer Service Teams.
- Manage correction of errored messages by investigation & analysis of accounts.
- Create or amend accounts when instructed by the Power Companies.
- Support the Team Leader through the meeting of your own, team & business objectives.
- Identify service improvements as appropriate & contribute to problem solving process to deliver the improvement.
- Meet day-to-day operational requirements & deadlines in a timely and effective manner.
- Strictly adhere to legal & other contractual requirements, such as data protection & confidentiality.
- Escalate issues promptly & effectively when unable to resolve.
- Work on a flexible basis, according to Managed Service requirements, competencies & skills.
- Take telephone account enquiries from Power Companies & resolve efficiently.
- Demonstrate ownership of specific tasks.
- Deliver an excellent quality of customer service at all times.

REPORTING TO: Managed Services Team Leader

LOCATION: Felixstowe/Martlesham

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week / 5 days per week.
Managed Services is operational:
Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm

Saturday 8am - 6pm Flexibility with shift working patterns will be required.

Perform validation testing on changes to TaleXus Platform products, including System Manager, Cash Management, Vending Host and other products that will operate within the Managed Service environment.

To work as part of a team committed to designing new, and sustaining existing electronic metering and related products for the electricity and gas utility industries.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To take a lead role in product hardware sustaining activities, in particular the detailed investigation of issues impacting product reliability and customer satisfaction, and implementation of suitable solutions. - Provide mechanical resource to help support existing product lines to sustain product life and meet new customer requirements. This includes supporting the sustaining, manufacturing and purchasing teams in Felixstowe .

Itron is looking for a Principal Systems Architect to work in our fast paced development department requiring agile thinking, deep development experience, large system design experience, quick problem comprehension and excellent communications skills. The primary focus of this role will be to lead the design of Itron products to manage, monitor and configure remote devices over wireless networks, which include such components as hardware, firmware, software and networks.

The Principal Systems Architect will design and build solutions, mentor, and work closely with the team to ensure functional, performance, availability, and stability requirements of the solution are met. The Principal Architect will also provide technical expertise to the professional services teams as it pertains to the implementation of Itron products. Additionally this person may provide follow-up support to company product marketing teams and customer personnel by disseminating technical information for specific Itron products and ensures that the solution is functioning according to specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Designs complex systems/solutions to meet product specifications.
- Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve Itron products to meet the product roadmaps and requirements.
- Follow and drive the Itron Engineering processes and methodologies.
- Ideal candidate should have good knowledge of complex systems/solutions to design frameworks, processes, generate valid requirements to meet product specifications.
- Acts as an advisor and proposes changes based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
- Design and drives the solutions to ensure compatibility with Itron products and other applications to solve customer business needs.
- Ensure Itron solutions meet the quality, performance, scale and security standards demanded by smart grid Industry.
- Provides technical direction and design approval for Itron solutions.

Required Skills/Experience:

This position requires a minimum of 8 years of total experience in design and development, but most recently focused on the architectural design of enterprise scalable applications and embedded devices. Must have strong relational database and experience using programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, and C. Experience with design and development Methodologies and processes, excellent verbal and written communications are required. This position requires experience designing complex systems/solutions comprised of hardware, firmware, software and networks. It also requires extensive wireless networking knowledge including cellular, ZigBee, and WiFi.

Description

Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services. Job Functions:
Itron Programmers/Systems Analysts design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate programs for functional areas. These areas include but are not limited to finance, human resources, manufacturing and marketing. This individual analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding and tests/debugs programs. You would also develop conversion and system implementation plans, prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation and recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Also, you will train users in conversion and implementation of systems.

- Design, implement and test new systems
- Develop expertise in enterprise software systems
- Translate business needs and user requirements into functions that can be accomplished through subsystems and program development
- Provide training to end users on new and modified systems
- Attend business user meetings
- Research and recommend best practices

- Write user requirements, functional specifications and technical specifications
