ICS has resources in San Mateo, Jackson, Bangalore, India and Taiwan. The projects spans, SW, embedded SW, HW, Certification and Manufacturing. Cooperation with other teams in Itron to develop joint solutions is an important part of the Job. This position reports into the Sr Director of R&D.<br/><br/><b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b><br/>- Have led R&D programs or teams based in US, India and China<br/>- Have enough time in India and China to understand how to effectively interact with resources based in these countries<br/>- Have experience leading R&D programs spanning SW, embedded SW, HW, Certification and Manufacturing. (A candidate without Certification or Manufacturing experience (one of the two) will be considered)<br/>- At least 10 year of experience as a leader (Line manager, project/program manager etc.) in an R&D organization<br/>- An engineering background with hands on development experience at some point. This role is not a hands-on development role, but it is important that the candidate has this experience in order to be an efficient leader of the R&D activities<br/>- Coordinate and verify work of Program Projects as it relates to dependencies of milestones, resources and trade-off's<br/>- Report to Engineering Mgrs on potential issues and conflicts<br/>- Communicate progress to all levels regularly<br/>- Provide feedback on the performance of team members<br/>- Preferred experience in the cellular space building cell phones, modems or other devices including cellular technologies<br/><br /><b>Experience:</b><br/><br/>- This position requires a minimum of 12+ years of total R/D development experience, 10 years as a leader (Program/Project or Line Manager)<br/>- Must have a background in either software, hardware, firmware, telecom, cellular technology or a related field<br/>- Must have worked with teams internationally<br/>- Engineering Master/Bachelor degree or similar<br/>- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Visio Flowcharting, and Microsoft Project, Rational CC/CQ and Jira/Rally Software.
